# Import products from a spreadsheet

> Add or update lots of products at once with a CSV file.

If you keep your materials and prices in a spreadsheet (Excel or Google Sheets), you can bring them all in at once. Most haulers don't need this. [Premade products](https://bulk-order-hero.mintlify.site/how-to/products.md) is easier.

## Steps

**1. Download the template**

Tap **Products**, then **Import CSV**, then **Download template**.

**2. Fill it in**

One row per product. Save it as a CSV file. In Google Sheets: **File**, then **Download**, then **CSV**. In Excel: **Save as**, then choose **CSV**.

**3. Upload it**

Tap **Choose CSV file**. You'll see what will happen to each row before anything is saved, and any problems are marked.

**4. Import**

Tap **Import**. New products come in **hidden** so you can check them, unless you turn on **Publish immediately**.

## What goes in each column

Required:

* **title**: the product name, like *Hemlock Bark Dust*.
* **category**: like *Bark & Mulch*.
* **unit**: `yard` or `ton`.
* **qty\_1** and **price\_1**: your first size and its price, like `3` and `135`.

Optional:

* **qty\_2**, **price\_2**, **qty\_3**, **price\_3**: more sizes and prices.
* **description**: a sentence about the material.
* **sku**: your own product code (see below).
* **image\_1** to **image\_5**: web links to photos.

## Update all your prices at once

Give each product a code in the **sku** column, like `BARK-HEM`. Next time you import a file, rows with a matching code update that product instead of adding a new one. Handy for changing prices each season.
